In the 2022 sample, 60% of respondents identified as white and 40% identified as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or other Person of Color), similar to both the 2016 and 2019 samples.

<span style="font-weight: 400;">The majority of each Race to Lead sample has been comprised of women. In 2022, 78% of respondents were women, Men made up 15% of the sample, and the proportion of gender nonbinary, non-conforming, and genderqueer respondents was 6%.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">People of color and white respondents had equal levels of educational attainment. BIPOC respondents were as likely as white respondents to hold a master’s degree, or a PhD or equivalent.</span>
